A realistic depiction of the tragic accident in which the French sailing frigate, "Méduse," ran aground on a sandbank off Mauritania. A work that generated a real stir among the public.
With a composition based on historical records and dynamic drawings, this work dramatically portrays the life of the "pioneer of modern art" in search of the essence of art.
