Leia Hasumi

Leia Hasumi is a 16-year-old famous actress and one of the prisoners in Mahou Shoujo no Majo Saiban. Due to her androgynous appearance and gentlemanly demeanor, she is particularly popular among female fans. Her manner of speaking is somewhat theatrical, befitting her life on stage.

Hardworking and highly responsible, Leia naturally takes on the role of a leader and believes that she must stand at the center of the group in order to protect everyone around her. Although this confidence can sometimes be mistaken for arrogance, she is genuinely prepared to put her own life at risk for others.

Leia has difficulty relying on other people and tends to carry her burdens by herself. Despite being extremely hardworking, she does not actually enjoy working hard for its own sake. During the rare moments when she allows herself to relax, she enjoys watching cat videos.

Leia possesses Gaze Manipulation magic. She can force a person's gaze to remain fixed on a location of her choosing.

She also makes casual use of this ability in everyday situations, such as making people look directly at her.

Leia grew up desperately wanting to be seen by her mother, who rarely paid attention to her. In an attempt to make her mother notice her, Leia became increasingly determined to stand out and eventually pursued a life on stage.

Even after becoming a famous actress, however, she was unable to obtain the attention she truly wanted. Her desire to be seen gradually developed into an obsession with being the center of attention and standing out more than anyone else.

This insecurity lies beneath Leia's confident, theatrical persona and is closely reflected in her magic: despite being admired and watched by countless people, the gaze she wanted most was the one she could never obtain.
